This orientation will meet the college mandatory orientation requirement and is designed for military veterans with prior college experience.
All freshman students are advised to attend the traditional freshman orientation hosted through the Student Leadership & Engagement Office that can be found at: Orientation | Student Leadership and Engagement | SUNY Buffalo State College.
The cost for the military orientation is $25.00. You may pay in advance, via credit card, through the link provided on the registration page.
NOTE: If you are eligible for and receiving either the Ch. 33 Post 9/11 benefit or the Ch. 31 VR&E program, this fee can be included in the processing of this benefit and does not need to be paid out of pocket. If you are receiving one of these programs and you are attending one of the traditional college orientation programs, this will be automatically included with your certifications and/or invoicing to the Veteran Affairs Department.
If you need a temporary parking permit to attend the military orientation: If you want our office to mail you a parking pass prior to the event, please state this in the remarks section of the registration or email vetservices@buffalostate.edu. Otherwise, these passes will be available to each new student for the orientation date upon check-in arrival. Please arrive well in advance of the event in order to pick up the permit and have time to park in the designated parking areas before the orientation begins.
Military orientation agenda: This will be sent to each of you upon registration
